An inmate currently serving time (in Georgia) has completed the recommended time of 84 months (as of March) as sentenced by the judge. He is still incarcerated because they have decided to depart off of the grid (of his recommended 84 months) and confine him for yet another 24 months. Thus far, he has served approximately 7-9 months out of the 24 additional months. My questions are, Is is possible for him to be paroled out if he paroles out to the State of Michigan, and if not, could the remainder of his 24 months be served in a halfway house in the Chatham County area (Georgia)? What options would he have at this point? His record within the
prison system is not flawless, but he has managed to complete his GED, stay out of trouble (no write-ups), and complete a course for Culinary Arts. What are the chances of him paroling out in the year 2001? Can he be considered eligible for parole?
