@ 2 years ago, local cops took my car. They have never filed any paperwork seeking forfeiture (or otherwise), and are now asking me to sign a release of responsibility for damages and they will return my car, no charge. They did in fact damage my car when they drove it off my property. What are my rights? Can I sue? I lost my job as a result of their action. HELP!
