unlawful directing of a laser pointer

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? oregon
I am just wondering what a sentence would be for an offense like this. I have read the local municipal code for this offense, but I know someone wouldn't get that type of sentence. any advice would be appreciated

It's a class A misdemeanor but only applies if the person who was pointed at is a peace officer or private security professional.

It's very dangerous to see the beam of laser pointer directly.

And, if you're pointing it at an aircraft...you're talking Federal charges.
