There were six of us that are charged with vandalizing three cars. We admit to doing it but we want to know our rights in handling the charges against us. The victim with the three cars already has an attorney and has sent a legal document demanding the money due. What kind of options do we have in handling this? We want to settle out of court so this won't go on our permanent record and it also seems like hiring a lawyer is more money we don't want to spend. So we want to know what kind of rights we have in this to dispute the damages done and the itemization of damages if we can refute any of them.
