WarrantSo i found out that I never did pay my fine for a petty drinking violation in NYC subway. A warrant was put out in May of 09. I talked with a representative of the NYC court and he said I should go in ASAP to resolve the matter. What exactly will happen? I'm assuming a higher fine, but what kinda figure are we looking at here? Original fine was for $25...thanks |

| You should probably take care of this a.s.a.p. If you are picked up on a warrant I suspect a warrant fee will also be tacked on. The fee is usually waived if you turn yourself in. goodlouck. |

| I once got a traffic ticket for $50 and frankly forgot about it. I still feel pretty stupid. I got a letter in the mail about a year later saying that I now owed something like $150, my license was to be suspended and there was a warrant for my arrest. I promptly went in, paid what I owed and everything was fine. If you are prepared to pay whatever is owed on the spot you may get away with just that. Just in case though it may be a good idea to go in before your work weekend and have a friend's phone number. No point losing your job over a no call/no show. |
