What is the name of your state? oregon

I have a nephew in oregon, facing 3months plus 3yrs probation. for 2 assault 4 and interfer with report. now he has a public defender, that has had no time to hear his side of the case. he showed up to talk to him about case, and found out by information that court was the same day. he went to court, and they wanted him to plea bargin at this time. he went for it. but i believe he has a case. is it to late know? he was very drunk during the time and does not know his rights. he did make the cops made at him. so what can he do now?

A sentence such as that is typical for someone that cannot control themselves when drinking. The court should also require some sort of rehab too. The fact he was drunk is not an excuse for committing a crime. If you feel he is not getting fair legal representation, hire him an attorney. Depending on how much is spent, a motivated attorney may fight a bit harder for a lesser sentence.
