What is the name of your state? ca
is there a specific definition for when a person becomes criminally liable for not paying income taxes?
at what point do the courts and the irs consider that a tax deadbeat to be a criminal and for it to be necessary to arrest and prosecute such a person?
can they make you an offer you can't refuse, like "agree to become compliant now and forever or we will arrest you and send you to prison"?
if you do what they say, does this still qualify as "voluntary compliance"?
can they trick you, meaning get you to comply, you pay them, and they they try to put you in jail?

You become a criminal the minute that you break the law. In this case, the minute that you sign that fraudulent tax return, or fail to file as required.

criminal issue.

i can appriciate it that you took the time to reply but your post still does not tell me any indicators as to to who, what, when, why and how of the irs or state tax guys going after a person criminally as opposed to through civil proceedures.
