Does a bailment realtionship exist between me and the agent after I hand over my passport to the agent? I hand over several pieces of idenrtification to the agent. The agent asks me to move to another area to take a vision exam. The agent comes over to assist with setting up the exam. Once I complete the exam, we return to the original area and I ask for my passport.that's when we discover the passport is gone and stolen by an unknown person. I had to purchase a new passport but now the government agency is refusing to pay for my passport renewal fees alleging that they're not responsible.
Is there any viable recourse?
