What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia. In georgia, can an Energy provider shut off the power in a residence for non-payment if proof can be provided that there is a serious health risk to a person, such as chronic lung disease?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Some people with chronic lung problems have to plug things in, you know, so they can breathe.... and they have to keep the house cooler/dryer than it's been in the South recently.

Yes, I am quite aware of that but there are also respiratory ailments that are not affected by not having electricity. I'm just wanting the OP to tell us what the problem is as it will make a difference as to what can be done.
