What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Montana/Kentucky.

My brother is in a nursing home in Kentucky and I am his payee and live in Montana. Recently there was a problem with his payment and the nursing home called an uncle in Kentucky and another brother in Florida and told them if I didn't make the payment they would have me arrested and my brother would be evicted from the nursing home. I am not disputing the money but I would like to tell them that HIPPA prevents them from discussing these matters with anyone they can reach by phone! May I??

No. HIPAA forbids them from discussing MEDICAL information with any unauthorized persons. It does not forbid them from discussing administrative or billing issues.
