I am facing aggrivated battery w/o death/body harm & criminal damage to property. I was driving, and the passenger in my car jumped out and punched a bicyclist who was yelling profanities at him. I got out of the car and pulled them apart and the officers found me by my license plate. Do I need a lawyer, should I just give the officers the name & address of my passenger, or what? The bicyclist states that he did not think that I was the one who hit him, and he wants money for his handlebars and helmet. Of course you should give the name of your passenger to the police! Why wouldn't you want him/her to take responsibility for his/her actions?
