Auto Accident 5-06-09

What is the name of your state (Indiana)?
I had an auto accident on 5-06-09, 100% of responsibility taken by the other party. The accident totaled by car and farctured my back causing a month off of work, rehabilitation, constant back pain. Possibility of multiple Epidural injections a year for inflamation for possibly the rest of my life. Cannot pick up my grand kids, ride horses like I use to, and have to take pain killers every day. I have had approximately $33,000.00 in doctor bills. I am going to settle since my doctor said it will never get any better. How much should I ask for pain and suffering. I am 56 years old.

I don't know why you didn't post this in the Auto Accidents forum, but you need to talk to a lawyer. Even though your injuries are likely to leave permanent damage, as long as you are still actively treating, it's too soon to settle. It's too soon to accurately assess what the long term damage will be, and your bills are already quite high. Consult a professional...and consider getting a second (and maybe third) medical opinion too.
