What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio Hello all, this is my first time on this forum. I hope someone can steer me in the right direction here. Ok here's my story. I am an active musician in a rock band, so I have to spent a lot of time in bars so I am subjected to many bar fights that I usually avoid. Just last week I was stepping off stage and an unruley drunken man was attempting to throw a punch at my guitar player, so I took him to the ground and threw him out, just as I stood up I was hit in the back of the head with a beer bottle that broke and soaked me, the man who did it was obviously the mans buddy I threw out. Anyway they were both arrested that evening, I declined medical attention at the time because I was more angry than anything, but am now having bad headaches and have missed a day and half of work at my day job. I went to court to testify against my attacker who was being held in the county jail with a $25,000 bond, being charged with felonious assault. My question is this: Can I sue the man who hit me? What kind of court should I file in? And do I deserve compensation for his actions of bodily injury against me as I was cut and bruised and am now suffering headaches. I was not knocked unconsious but my ears were ringing and I saw stars for about 3 seconds and then saw RED. I made no further actions against my attacker or the patron I escorted out of the bar as the police arrived and subdued them instantly.

Thanks for any advice!
