Bookcase fell on me at JC PENNEY ( 4 stitches)

Ohio,While waiting in the beauty salon at JC PENNEY I went to get a magazine of the bookshelf as I walked away the bookcase it fell toward me hitting me on the leg . I went directly to the medical center where I needed 4 stitches and a tetnus shot, I have to go back Friday for a follow up. Immediatley after the case hit me a member of J C Penney management came and got all my personal info for a report from me after it occured , I showed my injury to receptionist she replied "they just put those bookcases there and they did not bolt them down" I called the store manager and he told me that the incident had been relayed to their insurance company AIG and that a claims adjuster would contact me in 24 hours...my question is what do I do now ? Do I deal with the insurance guy when he calls or seek a personal injury atty. thanks~~

That's up to you. If you feel that, once they pay for the medical bills, and offer a small a small amount for your trouble, you will be satisfied, then you don't need an attorney.

Retail injury money

Most, almost all retail chains, have an injury allotment of cash for EACH LOCATION AND FOR EACH MONTH of around 15,000 dollars.

No hurts, it goes toward manager bonuses or inventory losses later...

Have injury in the store... sure don't broadcast or offer and it might go away, but, if it...or rather YOU... tell them the amount of your medical and a reasonable legal pain and suffering amount as well is due NOW... you will get the corporate phone call and you may have a tad of PAPERWORK to due or have done but it is waiting to be yours already.

And tip... do not, i repeat, do not be nice, or for that matter even be 'workable'. Stay on it for the week or less and phone up the ladder every day until finally they hand it over or you file a couple of 'small claims' and add that cost of 10 bucks each lawsuit to their total, get it in any court and ...

We are i think smiling and... done. If you need any more in the details of how to for this please contact me. I'll help you clear through the smoke screen if you like.

Where did you get this load of BS? My wife has worked in retail management for years with many of the largest retailers and she has never heard of such a thing. She says that every retailer she has worked for turns all reported customer injuries over the their insurance companies. In over 20 years, she says there have been less than 10 injuries that even required medical attention at her stores. This includes the 8 years she worked for JC Penney.

It happens at wal-mart. Local wal-mart has a chart in the back where they keep history of any accidents or things of such nature..

If after a pre-determined period, no accidents occur, they recieve something like a pizza party or ice-cream party, or barbecue..something of this sort, till now recently have the employees recieved money!
