Child fell in store, injured

My child fell in a bookstore, and hit her head on the bottom of a bookshelf, after which she needed stitches. I don't feel that the fall was the fault of the store, but the lack of padding in what is supposed to be a childrens area did not prevent injury. The edge of the shelf was bare wood with a sharp corner. Is the store responsible in a situation like this?

That depends on a complete review of all relevant facts. If you don't think the store is completely at-fault then talk to the store manager about splitting the bill.
