What is the name of your state? Missouri.

I have just been notified that I am being sued over some soap that a person bought from me over a year ago. I make homemade lye soap. Do not have any insurance. This is the first time I have even ever had a complaint about my soap. People love it. What do I do? Really has me thrown. She is sueing for economic and non-economic damages.

What exactly are the damages she's sueing for? "Economic and non-economic" damages covers everything under the sun.

How do you know you are being sued?

Actually, I just received a letter of a threat of legal action. I just need to know what I'm up against. No specified terms of what this person is after was mentioned. Just the "economic and non-economic loses". I have never had a problem with my product and have been doing it for several years. No complaints up to this episode ever.

You could be up against anything. You need to post again when you actually have some concrete information about what's going on.
