Cut hand in outlet store - corporation

Hello. Today I was in an outlet store where they sell used items. The store consists of a door which enters into a warehouse where there are concrete floors, tables, shelves, and a huge amount of used items they are selling. The tables take up about 2/5ths of the warehouse and are in about 4 rows; on them, they are topped with bins with more used items for sale by the pound.

Today, I was looking through these bins and moving stuff around to get a look at everything in the bin and I cut my fingers very badly on broken glass that was in the bin. I was with my friend and we immediately left and went to an emergency room. I got about 20 stitches and a big medical bill that I don't have insurance to cover.

I have a few questions and comments on the matter.

I am an avid guitar player that plays in multiple bands that support about 30% of my income, and now I'm not going to be able to play guitar for I don't know how long.

This store is not a low quality store without any money; this is the biggest corporation in receiving donations and reselling them.

I am going to talk to a lawyer tomorrow and he is going to give me an estimate. I was wondering how much is a fair price to pay a lawyer for something like this or if there's a way to give him a cut of the settlement.
Also, What do you think of an amount for a settlement?

glad to see you have already won the case. They aren't usually this easy.

Did you inform the store management of the injury before leaving the store? If not, do you think they will believe you when you walk in days later and claim you were injured in the store?

Yes, I informed the manager before I left, but after seeing the blood she hurried me off.
