You have a case to get your medical bills - and that's it. Your cut will heal slower and have a bigger scar because you didn't get stitches, but that's YOUR fault not theirs. If you get a token couple hundred bucks for pain and suffering, consider it a gift - your injuries were not severe enough to require even that. I suspect that's what your lawyer will conclude at your meeting, not worth his time.

And, as I have pointed out - even THAT isn't quite as cut and dry. Why did our OP leave her foot in the path of the door that she KNEW would be opening?

Door was faulty and they were aware it was faulty, liability seems fairly clear to me. They wouldn't be offering to pay the bills if it were a clear case of a clumsy customer.

The door didn't fall open on the OP. The door swung open through the normal path that a door takes.

As I said before, it's not cut and dry. It's entirely possible that the OP could convince the court that the store is liable. THAT is why they are offering to pay...to avoid the costs involved with defending a lawsuit. You know (probably better than most) that an insurance company will look at the total cost involved in a lawsuit before deciding whether to fight a claim such as this...

well, the insurance claims rep called me back today to tell me she sent out the paperwork for me so they can pay my medical bills. i asked her about compensation for my foot injury seeing as how it was the companies fault(once again, the door was jammed and i didnt think it would open as hard as it did and when i told the security officer,he said there have already been complaints about it.)and she told me it was a very good possibility and she would call me when i sent the paperwork back so i dont even know if im going to go through a lawyer
