Drunk Driver Liability

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Michigan
My husband drinks and drives. I am worried that he will injure or kill someone.
If such a thing happens, and he is sued for damages, is everything we own, including the house which is in both our names, at risk if damages are awarded. Would I have to divorce him to lessen my liability? Or, can I get the house in my name only and stay married?

You want to stop your husband from drunk driving?? Next time he has that 12 pack of Sam Adams ( oh..you're in Michigan....change that to Bud Lite) and gets in the car...pick up the phone and call the police!! It works great...trust me...I did it to my x so that he wouldn't kill a child. That was my BIG concern...not losing my home or whatever...I knew he was going to kill someone if I didn't do something about it!
