Fall in North Fork Bank

What is the name of your state? NY

My mother fell from the stairs at the North Fork Bank while going to the safety deposit box in banks' basement. She has a lot of pain and bruises. The bank offered an ambulance on the spot but she was in a shock state and refused. The branch manager said she can go to the hospital anytime if she feels pain. Next day the manager said they will not cover anything as she is not on the premises anymore. My mother has no insurance and doesn't know what to do. The banks insurance company doesn’t seem to be responding to cover any medical bills. She could not start the new job she was offered. Should we contact an accident lawyer?
