falling fixture at gym

What is the name of your state? NY
Hi, I was at my gym today and when leaving a room the light fixture from the ceiling fell down and hit me on the shoulder. I didnt get hurt, however it scared the heck out of me and I was shaking for quit some time. this fixture was metal and around 5 feet x 3 feet Is there anything I can do legaly? All they did was fill out a accident report. I mean I could have really been hurt bad. No one even called me to see how I was. I'd like to know how the fixture just fell like that, and the light was very dust too, it obviosly wasnt attached properly.
I dont know if there is anything I can do, i just figured I would ask
Thank You.

Just be thankful that you weren't hurt. You won't get anything because you could have been hurt.
