Fedex delivery guy slips while making delivery

What is the name of your state? CA

The Fedex delivery guy trips over a sprinkler head on the grass while making a delivery, falls and breaks a leg. Is this covered under Workers Comp? Is the homeowner liable? Which comes first? What damages and which laws apply?
