Got sucker punched and knocked out. Woke up and refused amulance ride

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington state

I was knocked out with a sucker punch at a bar with my hands in my pockets. When I woke up, the EMT's were there and started loading me on a stretcher. I said that I don't want to go in the ambulance and they said I could refuse. A local police officer said that if I refused to go in the ambulance he would haul me to jail and put me into protective custody. I said that I didn't agree and the ambulance hauled me off. My bill for the ride is $1226 and the ER bill was $900. I was released from the hospital about 30 minutes after getting there. A waste of time and $$. What, if anything, can I do? I thought about going to the police chief and finding out if the officer was bluffing or if they can actually haul a person off to jail for being sucker punched. I should have told the cop to haul me away, it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper.

You or your health insurance can pay the bill. If you don't have insurance and can't afford the bill, you can ask the hospital and ambulance company about payment plans or indigent care.

Were you drunk ?
If so yes, public intoxication

How did the fight originate?
With witness claiming you initiated it ( witness being a reliable, sober source, even though MAYBE false) the officer still has a right to haul you in.
