hi,
i was hit by a car while riding my bicycle. i feel okay, just scrapes and bruises, but friends advise me to get checked out. i d/n have health insurance and i have asked the person who hit me if her insurance would pay for the check-up (i am assuming x-rays would be the most expensive thing here...), and she said no, that because there was no accident report filed at the time then her insurance would not pay. is this true? i am not sure how to handle the situation--what do you think?

DO you have her ins. information? If so, contact them ASAP. Also, call the police and see if you can file a report now.

Why weren't the police called when this happened?

How did you get her number to call her? If she tries to deny the accident, then you can always mention to the ins. co. you got her number from her AFTER she ran you over!
