Injury in a restaurant

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I was recently injured in a restaurant. The injury is serious enough that it will take considerable amount of recovery time and possibly surgery. Should I get a lawyer to represent me? The restaurant has been willing to pay the bills but there is also the matter of loss of work, pain etc.. Should I work it out myself with their insurance company or get a lawyer? I don't want to sue, I just want fair compensation. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

well, if you were injured by a person that came in to rob the shop, the shop is most likely not liable in any way.

If this is some fault of the restaurant, let us know what the injury is and why you believe the restaurant is liable and we may be able to provide some advice that applies.
