Injury at school. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts My 7 year old daughter was suffered an injury in gym class playing a game called "sneak attack". She will loose one maybe two of her front teeth. This happened at a public school in Massachusetts. Should the school cover an any current and future dental bills? This happened last on 1/16, nobody from the school has contacted me so far, and I will be paying them a visit today(in the principle is in) or tomorrow. What type of questions should I ask? Greatly appreciate any help. Richard |

| Why should the school pick up the bill for her accident? They are not expected to be able to prevent all injuries, that's just not possible. |

| Because, in my opinion this accident should have never happened. The accident was not a result of my child horsing around but an outcome of a “game” she was made to participate in by the teacher. She suffered the injury when she fell to the floor (wood floor) and another child fell on top of her. You don't let children participate in such physical “games” if you cannot provide adequate protection. This should have never happened, and in my opinion is a result of the teach being negligent. Now, my daughter will have to go through the rest of her life without frot tooth or two. From what I have found out so far from the dentist, the cost to have the teeth fixed and maintained as she grows will be in thousands of dollars. The least the school should do, is cover all the dental bills. The school must have some type of accident insurance? |

| Having the kids play physical games in gym class is not negligent. Physical activity is GOOD for children and should be encouraged. You can certainly ask the school if they have accident insurance, but it would be no excuse for YOU not carrying the proper insurance on your child. |

Just use your accident insurance... (Talk to a local personal injury attorney - you won't accept the answers you get on this forum because they're not what you want to hear)

What did that attorney say? I'm sure you can find somebody who will take your money in exchange for giving you the answer you want to hear...
