judgment in 1994 for dog bite

What is the name of your state?in 1994 I was living in San Jose California and my dog bit the mailman. He sued and received a judgement for $2500.00. My attorney advised not to do anything about the judgment until I heard from them. Well, last week I got a bill for the $2500.00 plus interest. Is there a statue of limitations for a judgment, do I still owe this money?
