| | Just Bought 4 Ft. Above Ground Pool What is the name of your state? Oklahoma
We just bought a 4 foot above ground pool. We have a 3 foot chain link fence around our yard. We plan to put a lock on the gate. However, every kid in the neighborhood already knows we have this pool. What precautions should we take? Although the cover would not keep them from falling in, I was thinking about putting the steps in the garage every evening and putting the cover on overnight or when we are gone to at least make it less inviting? I figured I should have any neighbors sign a waiver of liability as we rent and I do not want to be held liable or cause my landlord a headache (we did ask his permission before we bought the pool BTW). If they sign a waiver and we require children of a certain height (what height) to wear a life vest or have a parent present, will this be enough to protect us? I hate to be mean and just say "no", so I am wondering if there is any other option? Thanks... joanrenae |

If anything happens, you WILL have a lawsuit (you and the property owner). Make sure you have a lot of insurance.
Furthermore, a 3' fence is not adequate. |

Trespassing has a whole different set of rules when it comes to children. |

| | Yes, it was a serious question, I didn't know that. It seems like if there's a locked fence, that's a reasonable precaution to keep people out, but I guess it's not foolproof enough.
Remind me never to get a pool | |
