Loss of income and personal injury claim

Hi,
Don't know if I am on the right board or not sorry.
Anyway last year September-ish my partner's son (who lives with us) tripped and badly broke his forearm while at his learning centre (he was 16 at the time and he has Asperger's Syndrome), he couldn't attend after that due to health and safety so therefore was not receiving his EMA (Education Maintenence Allowance), his father was just about to start to look for work because his son was getting a tiny bit more independant but because of the child having to stay at home all the time he had to stop looking for work.

The injury was to both bones in the forearm and in April this year he rebroke it and has had to have plates put in it, so once again cannot attend.
I am very angry about this as we have had no money to support the child - child benefit having stopped when he started at the centre - and his Dad being unable to work to babysit him has meant he can't work either.
The centre sent a couple of pieces of homework and now he has to stay on for another year to catch up on what he's missed.

Would I sue the centre for the injury (it was not actually in the centre but he was under their supervision at the time) and also for the loss of income?

Thanks
Any specific questions you need to know to help me i will gladly answer.

What is the name of your state? This site is for U.S. law only.
