My fathers death

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Tennessee

I just had a question. I'm not sure what to do or if anything should be done. My father drove himself to the emergency room because he obviously wasn't feeling well. This was on a Friday. He never got out of the car. My family and I had been calling him because he didn't come home friday night. He didn't come home saturday either. No one knew where he was. By this point, we had been driving around town looking for him. He was really sick with numerous health conditions and didn't need to be driving. We found him Sunday afternoon. We spotted his car in the parking lot of the emergency room at the hospital. He was still in his car, (dead). No one from the emergency bothered to come out or check the parking lot or anything. He had been dead in his car for two days in the parking lot. I was just wondering if I should pursue a suit against the security of the hospital to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else? Or should I just let it go? I just wished someone would've helped my father. If we hadn't went up there sunday, he'd still be there in the parking lot today. He was sitting up in his car, so I know many people had to see him. I'm just so sad, lost and confused. I'm not sure what to do. The police reviewed the security cameras at the hospital and saw him drive up there friday morning at 7A. He never made it out of the car. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad over 10 years ago and I still miss him every day.

When you say you wish someone would have helped your father, is there some reason why family members didn't drive him to the ER? I don't understand why he went alone or why an ambulance wasn't called so care could begin immediately.

I too, am sorry for your loss.

It doesn't appear that you have any grounds for a lawsuit. The hospital did not act in such a way that would have caused your father's death.

Your best option would be to move on and give yourself the proper time to grieve.
