My lawyer is not helping me at all!!

MA
I fell in Dunkin Donuts in Jam 2007 I started my lawsuit in august of same year, I have only talked to my lawyer 3 times and didnt evew get the answers to my quiestions. It seems like she is blowing me off but I know for a fact I have a really good case, and it could be worth quite a bit of money if I had a good lawyer. So I was wandering how to change lawyers, and not have to pay like you used to the same as if they finished the case. I know that has changed but I dont think she deserves a dime. I am very upset, very broke, and still in tremendous amount of pain. What should I do. What can I do legally can I swith lawyers?

First you find another lawyer willing to take your case, and you ask THEM that question.

You will still have to pay the first lawyer.

I'll ask another question - what were your injuries and are you still undergoing treatment for them?

LOL! May be what ANGELSBABYBLUES meant is Jan 2007.

Anyway, if the agreement with the first lawyer in on a contingency basis, ANGELS may terminate the services of the latter and the lawyer will get nothing as he/she himself/herself gets nothing.

However, ANGELS must first communicate with the first lawyer his/her intention of terminating the services, enumerating the grounds therefor. ANGELS must also disclose with a prospective new lawyer that another lawyer was previously handling the case.

i want to know why OP thinks they have such a great case? if their lawyer thought so surely the lawyer would be pursuing it.

Good observation. But we should give a benefit of the doubt to the fact the first lawyer accepted the case - that alone can signify, at the very least, that indeed OP have a case. At any rate, if indeed the lawyer find a weak case, as shown by the lack of enthusiasm to pursue it, then it's time to find a new one who might see it in the different light.

Also, a choice of the kind of a lawyer to hire can be crucial. A general practice lawyer might see the case entirely different to how a personal injury lawyer sees it. So the next question to OP would be, is your lawyer a personal injury lawyer?
