Neighbor shot me!

What is the name of your state? Texas
I was sitting in my living room when I heard a shot and felt a burning pain in my back. My neighbor's 12 year old was shooting from their porch. The bullet went through my storage building (twice) through the wall of my house, through the chair and into my back. Luckily I am okay.
The police filed a report of reckless endangerment. Today a local law enforcement officer told me that the LAST time he was called about this young man shooting his gun he tried to get them to take the gun away but was unsuccessful.
Their insurance company called me today, what should I expect? Should I deal with them directly or get an attorney?

Okay, so I need an attorney.... What am I looking for in a lawyer? I've never been shot before, never sued anyone, never given it much thought.
Do I have a valid personal injury claim?

Guru, he was shot. that's injury enough.

hire a personal injury attorney. ask your friends and relatives for references. if none of them know any good attorneys, call your local legal bar association and ask for a reference.

Unhappy

Update

Texas
This might be more appropriate for another thread, but here goes. The insurrance adjuster came today, between us we found 7 more bullet holes in my house, garage and game room. Did I mention that I just bought this house? Should the previous owner or realtor have disclosed this dangerous neighbor (assuming they knew)
