personal injury assault

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ca.
While riding in a vehicle I was assaulted by another passanger. She was arrested, and being charged with assault. Due to my injuries I've missed more than 4 weeks work, and have mounting medical bills. My assaulter is unemployed, and does'nt have any assets. If I was injured while riding in this vehicle, is the vehicle owner, or his insurance company liable?

Lawsuits are not about justice. They are about MONEY. If you don't want money, then you shouldn't be thinking about suing. And people post here because they are thinking about suing. Because they want money, no matter how much they don't want to admit that to themselves.
