Personal injury Mediation question

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Personal injury case against the state. I have a mediation with the attorney general next month (finally 3 yrs after it happened). If we come to an agreement on a settlement during the mediation process, do they have to pay me that day or how long does it usually take to get my settlement after we come to an agreement? Thanks for your help.

The time for payment to be made is usually negotiable - the faster you want it, the less they will offer. Generally though, they will have at least 30 days to pay. (You should ask for payment in XX days and interest on the unpaid balance if not paid by XX date - that tends to ensure timely payment).

Is it still 30 days if the sum is over $100k? Thanks for your help, I don't know much about mediations and my lawyer is really busy all the time so I hate to bother him with questions like these.

I'll have to double check your state's laws, but I'm about 99% confident that the amount at issue won't matter. As a general rule of thumb, figure that nearly every settlement is paid within 60 days of signing the agreement.
