Personal inquiry in a business

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Va

What rights do I have if I was injured in a major hardware store by another customer? The store does have the incident on file and a incident report was filled and I have been seen at emergency room and continue to report for doctors appointments due to muscle spasms, headache, and stiffness.

How exactly is the hardware store responsible for the other customer's actions?
