Playground Accident @ DayCare

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Florida 33569

4 yr old @ daycare falls on playground equipment cuts eyebrow, requires stitches. This happened 1 yr ago, have outstanding medical bills; Can I request the accident report from the Daycare & insurance information? Can I contact their insurance to have them pay the medical bills since it the incident was on their property? To my knowledge I have not signed an accident waiver @ this Daycare. Please advise.

Is this the same kid?

Q: Can I request the accident report from the Daycare & insurance information?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I contact their insurance to have them pay the medical bills since it the incident was on their property?

A: No; you have no contract with that insurance carrier. You need to file a claim with the daycare center; they will notify their insurance.

To my knowledge I have not signed an accident waiver @ this Daycare.

What does this mean?

Different kid.
Have been told that some daycare's have you sign an accident waiver that if your kid is hurt at the daycare, you can't sue or hold them liable.
So I file a claim with the daycare and they hand it over to their insurance company?? Thanks.

Oh good grief!! Do you have rubber walls and soft floors in your home? Does your children have any accidents in YOUR home? If so did you sue yourself?

My children have not ever been to the doctor until one needed stitches from the daycare accident and the other need an operation from falling off the mother's trampoline @ another residence. My children have not had major accidents requiring thousands of doctors in medical bills that have been incurred @ other premises.

So when they do suffer a money consuming accident at your home what do you plan on doing? My kid broke his arm by falling off his bed while sleeping so do you suppose I should find somebody to sue? Perhaps the maker of the bed? Sounds like you prefer your kids not to have fun and do what kids do and that is play.

Are you implying that these "stitches" ended up costing thousands of Doctors (i think you meant to type dollars)???????

If so.....were the stitches platinum with pave-set diamonds?

Just curious!

For the record, I do believe you can sue yourself, if you sue on behalf of your child. This could cause a homeowners or renters insurance policy to pick up medical costs which are not covered by medical insurance (or no medical insurance is had by the injured party). Homeowners and business insurance can cover injuries sustained at or on others' property, given there was some form of negligence involved in the injury.

Don't be too hard on the uninsured. For people under 40, it's a job benefit that borders on luxury, even for good paying jobs and skilled workers.
