pole failed ...

What is the name of your state?Oregon
Husband was on a 28' pole , pole failed due to lack of inground depth .
Husband was unable to get free (which I believe saved is life) and rode down along with the pole, face hit a tree stump .
lifeflighted to a major trauma hospital , face broken in several places, concusion, loss of eye sight, scarred face, constant pain (he has 4 titenium plates with 18 screws holding his chin together )
stayed in ICU for 3 days , on workman comp for 2 month not yet settled (all another story) doc bills to the sum of over $100 k so fare and yes workman comp did pay for all .
due to 3rd party fault ( pole shouldv'e been at least 5 to 6 feet under the ground but was only 1ft on 1 side and 2 ft on the other) we are suing.
the question is what should we ask for?
they (3rd party)have called his work and told safety office that husband could've prevented it which of course safety office laugh since it was established accident was caused by no fault on my husband part.

here is the question I understand 3rd party will not start until workman comp settles but what amount should we be asking for.

OK, I say you should ask for $10 million. (If your husband was really cute, make it $15M).

I daresay though, if you end up with anything, it will be significantly less than that.
