<<<Restraunt Negligence Help>>>

What is the name of your state? New York

I own a small bakery shop that I have maintained for 18 years. I employ three workers to help me prepare food and maintain the store.
Recently, a customer ordered a blueberry pie and swallowed a tack that was baked insde with the pie. In a recent meeting she said, "I took a bite of the pie and when I swallowed. I felt a sharp pain in my throat. I swallowed a tack, which nessecitated an operation for removal." I use every care possible in the preparation of the food in my kitchen. I couldn't say how the tack got into the blueberries, nor do I see how anyone else can. This is the FIRST time this happened...I never had problems wiith my food.
Please help me . I need help. I have been in business for a long time and never had problems. Please give me any advice. Thank you. I appreciate it!

My response:

What kind of "help" did you want from someone on the Internet? Did it ever cross your mind to have a consultation with an attorney? Gee, what about reporting the claim to your liability insurance company? You know, they can assist you with all of the issues.
