Sam's Club Injury

What is the name of your state? NY
Last night I was shopping in Sam's Club. I took a 7lb bag of 10x sugar from a pile of bags and the box they were in fell forward (it had 7 or 8 bags in it so was quite heavy). I put my hand out to stop the box from falling and the edge cut my hand in 2 places (my knuckle was exposed-river of blood). Some employees brought me into a room where they treated me and suggested that I go to the ER for stitches. I ended up getting 4 stitches. The evening was a nightmare. I didn't think about compensation but when I look at my hand (it's nasty), the fact that that box was not stable and the frustration of working with one hand for a couple of weeks (I'm a baker and have 3 young children-today was horrible), I'm really PO'd right now about the situation. Any opinions will be appreciated.

My response:

Could the way you grabbed the bag been a contributing factor to the box falling? If you did something wrong to cause a heavy box to fall forward, it will be on their video tape (which you won't be able to get because it's "work product, and made in anticipation of litigation). What was the 64 pound box sitting on?

sam's club

I would LOVE to see a video . It would absolutely be to my benefit. They must have been consolidating boxes that evening. The box in question was in fact sitting on top of another overfilled box of sugar bags.

Sam's club

I guess my concern is.....should I just let this situation go or is Sam's club responsible for the cause of this injury and all that has followed? Not being able to work for a couple of weeks, pain and the fact that I am limited in caring for my children and daily life?

My response:

Here's the problem, the way I see it. When you write to a site like this, and people, like myself, ask you questions, and then you fail to either read, or answer their questions, then we stop responding to you.

It defeats the purpose of why you're writing to this site in the first place.
