Scarred for life...

What is the name of your state? Michigan

Can I sue my state for an accident that happened 30 years ago? I fell on my moped as a teen. No helmet law at that time. Recieved a concusion and 33 stiches to the face. The accident was caused by me swerving between the yellow lines in the middle of the road. Down I went.
Big ole scar on my face. Kept me from being confident and reaching my full potential in life. Should of been a law in place.
Why not. Smokers did it with the cig. companies. Thanks, Jim

Why do some people ask the most dumbest questions on here?

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

Thumbs down

The answer.

Because its YOUR fault.

YOUR dangerous actions caused your injury.

The smoking metaphor you suggest is NOT RELEVANT.

In the case of smoking.

Tobacco companies LIED.

It wasn't like it was eventually revealed to all that smoking was addictive and harmful.

The tobacco companies concealed that fact to keep sales.

So unless the road you were on had a sign posted -"SWERVING IS SAFE" and you can prove the city put it up knowing it wasn't safe, well your screwed.

As for the helmet law. A few states still have NO helmet law.

AND

No states helmet law mandates a full face helmet or visior.

So the odds are that if you HAD been required to be wearing a helmet, you might still be cut up, and thus currently scarred and ugly.

smokers didn't know that putting smoke in there lungs would hurt them?
I didn't know riding a motorized bike like an idiot as a teen without a helmet would hurt me either than.
Guess I'm just a stupid as them. Case closed. They get moola for not being fully informed. I get squat because because I was an idiot.
