Accident occured in - CT
Hello my name is Brandon yesterday me and a few friends went to a casino in the area and once we got off the elevator and walk a few feet down the hall i slipped on a broken glass cup lying in the middle of the floor. i hurt my lower back and i twisted my ankle and had small pieces of glass both in my foot (through my shoe) and my leg and cuts on my hands and small cut on my face. before i got up a casino employee walked passed us my friend ask if he could help or get some help and he looked at me and said "just pull the glass out and you'll be fine" and then walked away i got up only feeling a little dizzy and walked to the end of the hall and called for security while waiting my ankle began to hurt and my back was extremly hurting me i sat right down and the casino's security supervisor came to where we were and began talking to my friend about the incident during the conversation he saw i was in pain and called for an ambulance the on-site doctor or nurse said he saw swelling in my lower back and my ankle was swole they rushed me via ambulane to the nearby hospital were they treated and evaluated me i had sprain my ankle, pulled muscles in my lower back and my cuts were minor and nothing to worry about. they gave me heavy medication and prescriptions of them to take home. i left the hospital and returned home. the following day (today) i returned to my local hospital because when i woke up my neck could not move, my toes were tingling and i had an extremem headache, also the worst part i was/am having trouble urinating which could become a bigger problem. they confirmed what the prior hospital had said and that i ahd pulled muscles in my back and sprained my ankle and they also said my neck was strained and directed me to add motrin to my medicine list. it has been an entire day now and i feel worse and i cant walk without extreme pain still have trouble urinating and my back pain seems to be traveling down my leg. the worst part is i was told to take the rest of the week off from work... my girlfriend is out of work on maternity leave and we are having a baby and currently have a son.. so any missed days at work could mean no rent getting paid etc. and many other problems my question is i was told i should sue at least the casino and if possible the gentleman who didnt help and walked away (casino employee). however im not one for causing a stir but i do feel like i was mistreated by the unhelpful employee and the security supervisor who never asked how i feel or if i needed anything just took my info down and called for help but now i am stuck with huge hospital/ambulance/medicine bills, no work for atleast a week, cant walk, cant move my neck, ahve a very bad migrane and cant help my pregnant girlfriend, i cant hold my 7 month old son, and most of all i cant urinate without a hassle which is not a good thing for anybody...
so shoudl i sue and if i did and won what kind of return would i be looking at and would it be good for me to do so...
thank-you for reading this novel lol

-brandon | Like you, I had a slip and fall in a business establishment today. I already contacted an injury lawyer. I fell flat on my back and now I'm suffering from nerve pain on my back and neck. If anyone in this forum gets sarcastic and weird and accuse you of being at fault, brush them off. As you know, most of the people who respond to this forum are regular smucks right off the street. Take my advice, I'm a graduating law student. You have a very good chance of winning if you sue. |

That assessment can only be made by the court after a full review of all relevant facts, including any evidence the casino may have regarding your culpability.
The fact that the employee did not render aid has nothing to do with your chance of recovery.
If you have not done so already, contact a personal injury attorney to evaluate your case.

You know, instead of filing frivolous lawsuits, you could probably make some money with that superpower of yours if you're in need of cash.

I warn OP to beware....sunnyside does not appear to be who she says she is, and her advice is suspect**************..

| | | OP: this casino wouldn't happen to be on an Indian Reservation, would it? If it was, be sure to mention that fact when speaking to PI lawyers - the rules are a little different for dealing with them, and you want someone who knows what they are.
PS: Don't wait too long - the casino video is likely going to be destroyed soon, and since you want to make sure its preserved if you do end up filing suit, you need a lawyer ASAP.

-brandon | I am in favor of your consulting with an attorney who has experience with injuries at casinos. I am posting only to point out a couple of things...
If your rent isn't going to be paid because you are out of work for a week, then the rent isn't going to be paid because lawsuits take time. If you win, you will be doing good to receive any compensation within the next six months.
You aren't going to be able to gain a sympathetic ear for your complaint of not having rent money when your intentions were to gamble with the income you are claiming to need so desperately and you aren't going to gain a sympathetic ear for your lack of birth control.
Get off your rear-end and put it in a bed so the muscles can rest; otherwise, difficulty with urinating may be the least of your permanent disabilities and it will be your fault, not the casino's.
