Question

Should I Sue?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I recently moved to Texas from Japan due to my Military commitments. On my first night in an extended stay hotel, I had an individual attempt to break into my room while I was out. My pregnant wife and two small children were inside the room while this man repeatedly attempted to open the door. I had been outside the temp residence for about 5 min before I decided to return to my room. As I come out of the elevator I noticed the man aggressively attempting to open the door and I could hear my wife screaming from the inside that he had the wrong room. After I told him to leave, I entered the room and he returned immediately, he continued to slam into the door trying to break it down. I called the police and after they arrived, they arrested the man and took him to jail because he was very drunk and on drugs. My wife cried almost all night and is extremely scared. She began having pre-matured contractions and I’m afraid for my unborn baby and her health due to the stress and fear caused by this man.

The police informed me that he was an X-NFL player that was probably acting like that due to his recent release from the league.

What legal actions can I take?

You did the right thing by calling the police. They will take it from here. You just need to take care of your wife ~ have you taken her to the doctor? What is the doctor saying about he condition?

Oh...what's the reason for the lawsuit, it seems like the police have everything well in hand?
