slip & fall advice

What is the name of your state? MA

Hello
I'll change the names to protect the identities.

A store employee at a major retailer was cleaning cabinets next to a major walking aisle. Little did he know that as he was spraying this stuff he was making the walkway into a skating rink. Well ; yup, you guessed it, I came around the corner and took a nasty spill. Stuff went flying. Must have been a riot to watch. Store Manager, security ..etc came over , helped me up and took some information. Anyhow, shoulder and hip injured , but not broken . Really sore. Went to Doctors, but need to get MRI.

Company sends me a release letter with a bunch of legal terminology offering $50 gift card to squash the whole thing. Kind of an insult. I'm not looking to make a lot of money here, but I would expect a higher offer (maybe $500 for my trouble) since they were negligent. They are admitting fault. Think I should ask for more or pursue this legally?

1 ) should I seek an attorney or wait until MRI and let this linger?

I guess I'm just more insulted than anything else that a multi-billion dollar corporation would try to squash this with something that will cost them about $20.

thoughts ? Thx

Are they also paying your medical bills?

You will need to know what is wrong with you before you will know whether you have a case to recover pain and suffering and if so, how much. If you are only bruised/sore, then $50 plus your medical bills isn't a terrible offer. If you have more serious injuries, you might want to consult an attorney.
