slip and fell

What is the name of your state? Virginia....is there a time line in which to file a claim if you have fallen in a store...i fell down their cement ramp..it was slippery and i sprained my ankle and was out of work for 1 week. i have pictures of my badly bruised knee and have to wear a splint for a month and use crutches and because of this i cannot drive anywhere. But did not call the store until 2 weeks later.

Virginia.... i don't know why it was slippery? all i know I felt my foot slidding
( my shoes were rubber soles) out from under me and i was then flat on my back with my leg twisted.
