Slipped on clear dish soap at Dollar General

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Alabama
I was in my local Dollar General that I frequent weekly.I was in the cleaning product section where I slipped and fell in a puddle of clear dish soap,an entire bottle of it was on the floor.I fell a few times trying to get out of the slippery mess..I was only a few feet away from the open door to the stock room and an employee immediately came to my assistance within seconds and helped my out of the soap.I am not sure if he had seen me fall or if he heard me from the stock room.He had told me that the same exact thing happened to him in the same exact spot two months ago and he broke his knee cap.
I had the store manager fill out an accident report and she had me wright a statement of what happened. In my statement, I explained that I slipped in the soap and there were no caution siigns and the employees were not aware of the spill...I wrote this because I assumed they weren't aware of it at the time and I am just a very honest person.
I am now finding out on the internet that I would have to prove negligence in order to be compensated and for my medical bills to be paid.Does this writen statement hurt me?The employee who helped me was working within a few feet of the spill and it was direcly underneath the survalience camera that the manager monitors at the front of the store, the empty bottle was on the floor...should they have noticed this? Also, since an identical accident happend within the past 2 months to the empoyee who helped me ,would this help?
I have not yet gone to the doctor,I currently do not have health insurance and I am afraid that I would be stuck with the bill.I think that I hit my head because it hurts, the right side of my neck, leg, elbow, and rib cgae are killing me,and I already have bruises on my stomach.I had to leave work today because I was too sore to work..Did I screw up by this statement?

Thanks

If you haven't gone to the doctor, you have no damages. Go get treatment if you need it, THEN you can worry about compensation.

For future reference, don't ever assume what other people know. It is best to remain objective and stick to the facts.

I do need to go to the doctor,I am feeling much worse.I just can't get stuck with a huge medical bill,I can not take on anymore debt.I need to know if The Dollar General would be liable for my medical bills?

I feel like I have been put in a very bad spot.I need to go to the doctor because I am hurt,I think that I have broken ribs.My job is very physical and I am afraid that I will miss work because I 'm too hurt to finish the job.I am just so afraid of taking on anymore debt at this time it would kill me.What if I need a cat scan...those are thousands of dollars.I just don't know what to do.

Go to the doctor exactly as ecmst12 so accurately said. You have to do this first, and I would urge you to go quickly since you are in so much pain.
