Unhappy

Son had compound fracture caused by negligence.

What is the name of your state? QLD, Australia.

I am in Australia so not sure what kind of advice you can give me, but I'm extremely angry atm and need to talk to someone.

My son was at his end of the year bowling league fun day.
They put the kids on the lanes in the dark with those disco lights.
I had forgotten my video camera so had to go home and get it so left my boys in my sisters care.

On my way back get a call saying my son K had broken his arm.

I get there and my little boy was lying on the floor with his arm mangled and his bones sticking out through the skin

My son had walked off the lane after his bowl and tripped on a wheel chair ramp that hadn't been put away the night before

My son had surgery which resulted in two wires running from his wrist through both bones up to his elbow and a 3 day stay in hospital. He had reactions to the pethidine and morphine, had to have a cast removed as his fingers turned black.
He has to have another cast put on next week as they are worried about infection.
And has to have more surgery in 8 weeks to remove the wires.

An incident report was written by my sister at the time and by one of the workers.
The worker also took a photo of where the ramp was and it sits 2 cm higher then the lane.

My son is/was a very athletic 7 year old, he has broken this arm before so i am worried about problems down the track.

My family and myself have been bowling at the this centre for 3 years and did not receive an apology(except when he was lying there in shock and staff came and said"sorry, that shouldn't of been there") or a phone call to see if he was ok.
And that makes me even wilder.

And it happened 3 days before school holidays too, poor little man.

Any advice that can be given would be appreciated.

Kind regards.

A solicitor? You have Jehova witnesses helping you?

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

Ok, good. OP - I know what you meant by solicitor -- someone to provide you with skilled legal advice & can represent you in court.

Ahhh yeah!

SOLICITOR - A person whose business is to be employed in the care and management of suits depending in courts of chancery.

A solicitor, like an attorney, will be required to act with perfect good faith towards his clients. He must conform to the authority given him. It is said that to institute a suit he must have a special authority, although a general authority will be sufficient to defend one. The want of a written authority, may subject him to the expenses incurred in a suit.

And you are a senior member?!

Thankyou Betty, its good to see there are at least a few nice people here to give advice to people in need

I guess they don't have tongue-in-cheek humor down under...
Shay was trying to make the point that this is a US Law forum, so we wouldn't be able to help you since we don't know the strange and foreign ways in your far away land.

Zigner, I have a wonderful sense of humor Unfortunately, when it comes to me asking a legit question about my injured son, my sense of humor is near to nil!

But as it was already pointed out to me above that this forum would not be able to give me advice due to it being US only, and then me being polite and saying thank you anyway to Betty, the "humor" was uncalled for.

Although I don't see how you read that as "This is US law and we can't help you", I read it as what we call "I'm being a smar* ar*e!

Once again, thanks Betty
