stuck by accidentWhat is the name of your state? TX A month ago I was injured on the job. The injury occurred when the dentist was performing oral operation; I was tasked to hold down clamps while he (dentist) attempted to remove a needle, while pulling the needle out of the patient’s mouth he inadvertently stuck my hand. I completed my blood work which came back negative. My concern is not all diseases are discovered until 5 years later like HIV, Hepatitis B and so forth. I work for the federal government as a civilian. How would I hold uncle Sam liable if I do contract something later on? Do I even have a chance fighting to receive any type of settlement? What is the name of your state? |

| Nothing takes 5 years to show up. Since it's known what patient the needle was used on, I don't know what the possibility would be for having THAT PATIENT tested. But you'll need to have another round of tests in 6 months - they should detect anything that's there to be detected after that much time. You certainly don't get any settlement when you haven't suffered any damages. |

| And because it's work comp, that prevents you from going back and suing your employer. If you wanted to sue someone, you'd have to go after the sole dentist. Work comp. is there so that you are able to recoup your losses without having to sue someone. |
