Fathers Legal Personal Injury Award

What is the name of your state? Michigan
I just found out my father won a sizable p.I (personal injury award) this happen whe i was about 12 years old. My father died in 1986 and for reasons not known (to me ) never collected the award money from this suit. * I only recently found out about this award in 2006. * his sisters and other family members tried exhuastingly to collect this money for themselves to no avail. I am my fathers only child. I would like to know if i can still collect this award. ( I am past thirty) I would like to know where this money is ; the attorney who won the settelment is deceased also. If it is possible for me to collect this award , I would like to know how and where to start this process. i would also like to know if there is intrest on the amount and at what rate it would be calculated (i.g @ the rate of interest of the award year or @ todays 2006 percentage rate. ???
I would appreciate some answers from anyone who has the legals 'proper' on this.

My response:

It's all over. The Statute of Limitations has surely expired by now - - and most likely long ago.

Explain what you mean by "won a sizable award". Was it a jury verdict in his favor or was it a settlement? Did he die before the paperwork was completed? Did he die because of the injuries from his accident?

The sizable award was for one hundredthousand dollars and no cents. This is a settelment out of court between the company who was sued and their lawyers and the lawyers who represented my father and setteled the suit. No he did not die befor the settelment paper work was completed. There is an settelment in writing signed by a judge. the company and it's lawyers agreed to this in court litigation otherwise a judge would mnot have signed it. I my guess is the lawyer got the check and was suppose to take or get his 33 and 1/3 rd (or what ever it was at the time ) I dont know what was going on . I can guess that maybe the lawyer was holding the check, was possibly 'jerkin' my father around. Maybe the client lawyer relationship broke down (afterthe fact of the agreed settelment) I just dont know. * I my fathers cause of death was arterial heart damage.
*This is not and could not be mentioned in these papers because he was still alive. I guess i should mention the lawyer is deceased now as well and so is the owner of the company who was sued and setteled. I felt i was in the middle of some kind of 'twlight / outer limits whirl wind to say the least. when i heard about these domino type death occurances. Please; tell me what you think now.

Respectfully Temp

I DONT THINK SO BECAUSE HIS SISTERS WERE SNEEKING AROUND TRYING TRYING TO GET THIS MONEY THROUGH A FRIEND OF THEIRS WHO CLAIMED SHE AND MY FATHER HAD A SON TOGETHER. THEY GOT A HOLD OF THIS SETTELMENT LETTER IN A "SNEEKY KIND OF A WAY" . THEY MUST HAVE GOT TO DOOR # ONE AND POSSIBLY #2 WITH CLAIMING AN HEIR 'SON'. HOWEVER SOMETHING OF A FIRE WALL MUST HAVE SUPRIZED THEM WHEN VALIDATED PROOFS MUST HAVE BEEN QUESTIONED ABOUT THIS "SON" OF THEIR BROTHER. LIKE SOME HARD COPY PROOFS . I WAS GETTING A DEATH BENIFIT AFTER MY FATHERS PASSING FROM THE SOC. SEC. THERE IS A RECORD OF ALL OF THIS.
MAYBE I NEED TO TRY AND GET COPIES OF THE COURT RECORD OF THE LITIGATION ??
WHAT DO YOU THINK ???
RESPECTFULLY & THANKS

My response:

Yeah, okay. Have fun chasing rainbows.

Capitalize your post someplace else, and learn to make coherent, understandable, sentences. I'm not bothering anymore.
