Thank YouWhat is the name of your state? Illinois... Ok. I know all of you have a lot of experience in what you do. I am a police officer and we would never harm our child. Do you even think for a minute that if I even felt guilty for what had happened that I would of even posted something on here. We did nothing wrong... all we did was put him to bed then woke up and found him gone. All my years as a police officer and all the training I have had could never prepare you for what we went through that morning. All investigations were done and the pathologist reports are final. There was nothing we could do. I am thankful for all you input and time. Thank You! Last edited by jacob27; 02-20-2007 at 02:02 AM. Reason: SP |

| You are soooooo not a police officer, and BB had you pegged. There is no reason to even further this situation with you.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be. | I am a police officer and your right there is no need to go any further with this. We have already been cleared of everything, I don't know how it is in CA. but in IL SIDS death are not always the parents fault. You tell me what we did wrong. We put him to bed and woke up and he was gone. The room was very hot and the furance just kept running. Thats why my first question was can the lanlord be held responsible for this. |

| Did the landlord make the decision of what room was to be the baby's room? Did the landord make the decision of where the crib was to be placed? I'm sorry for the loss of your child. Perhaps you and your wife should seek some counceling. |

| Perhaps I should have chosen my words differently and maybe this thread and it's original thread would be locked and not revisited. If the parents were not found to be negligent, then, my advice is and was to remain out of the spotlight, out from under the microscope of court, and away from a jury. I do not think the parents want to hear more of the same reactions and responses I, and we, have posted; thus, my advice given to stay away from a court. I hate to think that parents are too stupid to protect infants and children but everyday I read about deaths of infants and children, deaths that were preventable had the parents had enough sense to be protective of their children and not passive observers of the disasters that befall their offspring. (case in point: near my hometown last week, a two-year old with no parents or caregiver aware of its activities being mauled to death by two dogs and the parents had no idea the child was being killed! Its body was later observed lying on the ground by the dog pen. The dogs were put down, but the parents are running free. It grieves my soul to know parents have become so careless and uncaring.) EC
