under age son breaks his arm while snowboarding at big boulder, paWhat is the name of your state? New Jersey While at the poconos, My son and his friend decided to go to Big boulder ski mountain in Pa for some snowboarding. They both are only 13 and did not have my permission or any other grown ups permission. While snowboarding on the icy mountain, My son falls hard and breaks his arm. No one helped him and he walk along way back to the house we were staying. Im wondering if no one signed a form, was it legal for him to be snowboarding on the mountain without permission and are they liable to pay his bills. |

| Are you saying you want someone else to pay for your kid's bad behavior (i.e., snowboarding without your permission)?

| Skiing is an "inherently dangerous" sport in almost every state, NJ included. Therefore, "skiers assume the risks inherent in the sport". Ski Lift Safety Act N.J.S.A. 34:4A-1. Under the NJ Ski Act, ski areas do have a duty to mitigate obvious, manmade hazards. (It also lists some risks that every skier assumes or that the area operator has no duty to correct.) What specifically was the cause of his fall? PS: If he still has his lift ticket, read the back of it. You might be surprised.

son's broken armI was just wondering if anything what I can do since he had no parent with him and no one had signed the waiver in case he got hurt. I did read the back of his lift ticket, but I thought since he is under age and being 13, not knowing he could get hurt. To the other guy, Werent you ever a 13 yr old boy? Boys will be boys. Doesnt mean he is bad!!! |
